Christopher Sloan, DPM is a podiatrist at Midwest Orthopedic Center and attended medical school in Des Moines, IA. He completed a two year residence with Dr. Allen Jacobs in St. Louis. James N. Moore, DO. is a board certified general practitioner and director of Mineral Area Pain Center in Farmington, MO. Dr. Moore earned his medical degree from Des Moines University. He completed his internship and residency from Normandy Osteopathic Hospitals in St. Louis, MO.
Dr. Moore has worked in Farmington since moving here in October 1988. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and has affiliations with both Mineral Area Regional Medical Center and Parkland Hospital.
Dr. Moore has three sons and lives in Farmington. He is active in fundraisers, sponsorships, and local sporting events involving his boys.
Mark M. Medley, D.C. is a Chiropractic Physician and provider at Midwest Orthopedic Center. Dr. Medley was born in Farmington. He attended St. Joseph grade school and Farmington High School. He was a member of the Dyersburg State College baseball team in Dyersburg, TN for two years before completing his undergraduate studies at Logan University in St. Louis. After graduating from Logan College of Chiropractic in 2001, he moved back to Farmington where he has been practicing for over 10 years. Dr. Medley was the consulting Chiropractic Physician for Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center from 2001 to 2006. He is an Examiner on the National Board of Chiropractic and is active in various associations and charities including local high school sports teams as well as Mineral Area College athletics. His practice utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to acute and chronic spinal conditions.
Dr. Michael Xiaohui Fan received his M.D. from the Capital University of Medicine in Beijing, China and his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of
Missouri. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Case Western Reserve University-MetroHealth Medical Center in 2001
after which he served as a Staff Physician in the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation's Spine Center. From 2003 to 2008, Dr. Fan served as the
medical director for the General Rehabilitation Program at SSM Health Center.
In 2010, he established Select Pain and Spine Center in Farmington, MO to focus solely on spine care and pain management. His medical expertise has been an integral part of a multidisciplinary spine and pain management team that also practices chiropractic treatment, physical therapy, and neurosurgery. Together, they have been providing comprehensive spine care with the goal of achieving optimal patient outcome in Farmington and St. Genevieve. In total, Dr. Fan has performed more than 10,000 spinal procedures including epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks and spinal cord stimulator trials since 2010.
Scott A. VanNess, DO is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and director of the Midwest Orthopedic Center. After earning a Master’s degree in sports medicine from the United States Sports Academy in Mobile, AL, Dr. VanNess earned his medical degree from the Chicago School of Osteopathic Medicine.
He then completed an internship at Chicago Osteopathic Medical Centers, and an orthopedic surgery residence at Doctor’s Hospital in Columbus, OH. Today he specializes in joint replacement surgery and sports medicine.
Dr. VanNess is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics. He is associated with the Mineral Area Regional Medical Center, Parkland Health Center, and the Surgery Center of Farmington. He also has a clinic at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.
Stephen W. J. Orr, D.C. is a Chiropractic Physician and provider at Midwest Orthopedic Center. Dr. Orr received a Bachelor of Science Human Kinetics degree in Windsor Ontario, Canada. He completed his Chiropractic training in December of 1993 in St. Louis, MO. After two years of private practice in Philadelphia, PA, he returned to Missouri and settled in Farmington in 1995. Currently, Dr. Orr is a member of the Board of Chiropractic Examiners and is active in various state and national associations. His practice specializes in the rehabilitation of acute and chronic spinal conditions. He is a member of the American Academy of Pain Management and is trained in Manipulation Under Anesthesia. Dr. Orr, his wife Mendy and two children reside in Farmington.
Thomas Berkbigler, D.O., P.T. is a board eligible Orthopedic Surgeon at Midwest Orthopedic Center. He completed two Bachelor of Science Degrees and practiced as a licensed Physical Therapist in Missouri for 8 years prior to becoming a licensed Physician. He completed his Medical School training at A. T. Still University and then underwent Internship and Residency in St. Louis at Des Peres Hospital and St. Louis University Hospital. Today, he specializes in Sports Medicine, Joint Replacement, Upper Extremity and Arthroscopic Surgery. He is associated with the Mineral Area Regional Medical Center, Parkland Health Center, and the Surgery Center of Farmington. He also has a clinic at Iron County Hospital.
